Micro-Tape Removal
MICRO-TAPE REMOVAL (USING HEAT + TREATMENT OIL)
STEP 1: Ask your guest to arrive with clean dry hair.
STEP 2: Section the natural hair away from the extension bonds.
STEP 3: Carefully apply heat to the bond with a mini straightener (applying for no longer then 2 seconds). If you leave the heat on the bond for too long then it will melt and you risk being unable to re-use the extension.
STEP 4: Hold the natural hair growth above the bond you just heated and pull gently on the every end of the Microtape to slide the extension out of the hair. If you have asked your guest to come in with fresh hair then your extensions will be ready for re-taping and there would be no need to wash and dry the extensions saving service time.
STEP 5: Apply 1 pump of Remove + Treat Remover onto any residue left in the hair and let it soak while you repeat step 3 + 4 on the rest of the extensions.
STEP 6: Once all of the extensions are removed from the hair and Remove + Treat has been applied - gently rub in the treatment oil and then gently comb any residue out of the hair in fine sections using Remy Hair Extensions Metal Comb (our metal comb make this process much more comfortable for your guest as it does not pull on the guests head).
STEP 7: You will see natural hair loss occur (the hair that was unable to shed naturally as it was secured in the bond - this is perfectly normal). After combing each section wipe your comb and any residue off onto a towel and continue to keep your comb clean throughout the process.
STEP 8: Shampoo your guests hair with deep cleansing shampoo (TIP: Do 3 shampoos, one deep cleanse shampoo then one half deep cleanse, half moisture, then a moisture shampoo).
STEP 9: Condition with a moisture conditioner. You can also use the clean metal comb though your guests hair while the conditioner is in to ensure that you have indeed removed all residue.
STEP 10: Dry and style as normal or prepare to re-apply your guests extensions.
